A native of Greene County, Mr. Overton is a son of the late Redmond Roy and Ruth Patillo Overton Sr., and was the widower of Irene McCook Overton. He was employed with the Georgia DOT, Lockheed Aeronautical, Greensboro Water and Gas Department and was the owner of Overton's Sigh Painting. He was a World War II veteran, a member of San Marino Masonic Lodge and a noble of the Mystic Shrine of Yaarab Temple. He attended Grace Episcopal Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Greensboro City Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Survivors include four first cousins, M.C. Overton, Dunwoody, Mamie Delle Maxwell, Danville, and Vesta Newton and W.M. Overton, both of Greensboro. Pallbearers will be Fred Hunter Sr., Lewis Duvall, Carey Williams Jr., Bill Moore Jr., E.H. Roy Calvin Crunkleton, 74, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000. A native of Athens, Mr. Calvin was a son of the late Isaac Austin and Maggie Teasley Crunkleton. Formerly of Dayton, Ohio, he was a manager of A&P Grocery and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church in Cornelia, Ga. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Stewart & Carroll Funeral Home, Paris, Ill., with the Rev. Kenneth Knight officiating. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery, Paris, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Shanks Crunkleton; two sons, Ronald A. Crunkleton, Cincinnati, and Jeffrey L. A native of San Diego, Calif., Mr. Smith was a son of David Harrison Smith Sr., Athens, and Debbie and Dan McLane, Fredonia. He was a member of West Point First Baptist Church, West Point. Mr. Smith was a graduate of Springwood School, Lanett, Ala. and attended the University of Georgia and Southern Union State College, Opelika, Ala. Services were at 11 a.m. Feb. 5, 2000 at West Point First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark McGee officiating. Burial was in Marseilles Cemetery, West Point.
