She was a member of Bean Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Sautee. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bean Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Franklin Winters officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Preston County, W.Va., Mrs. Moore was a daughter of the late John Ward and Beulah Bodkin Felton. She received a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University and a law degree from Nova University, Florida. She was a partner in the law firm of McClure, Ramsay, Dickerson and Escoe. She was a member of of the First Baptist Church of Toccoa, where she taught the children's Sunday school class. She was a member of the Stephens County Literacy Council and the Georgia and Florida State Bar. Services will be in Rowlesburg, W.Va. A memorial service will be held in Toccoa at a later date. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 7:40 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2000 Connie Thompson Bowersville Connie Stewart Thompson, 54, of 11 Brown Road died Wednesday, April 12, 2000. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Thompson was a son of Harvey Elvin Thompson, Bowersville, and the late Willie Jean Shiflet Thompson. He was a nurse with the Athens-Clarke County jail. He was the first male to graduate from Anderson Memorial Hospital as an O.R. technician. He was an LPN and the first nationally registered emergency medical technician in Georgia. He helped set up the respiratory therapy department at Elbert Memorial Hospital, Elbert County EMS in 1969 and Hart County EMS in 1974, where he was founding director. He was a graduate of Georgia Police Academy and worked as a deputy sheriff in Elbert and Athens-Clarke counties. He was recognized by the State of Georgia EMS Directors Association for 35 years of service. He was a member of Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge 690 and Lt. Dickson L. Baker Camp 926, Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Meeks officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Vickie Bowen Thompson; a daughter, Sharon Patrice Habel, Hartwell; two sons, Kevin Stewart Thompson and Brian Keith Thompson, both of Bowersville; and three brothers, Harvey Gene Thompson and Ty Thompson, both of Bowersville, and Blake Thompson, Washington. A native of Jacksonville, FL, he was raised in Hazlehurst, GA but had lived in Brunswick since 1986. He was a son of the late Leo Daniel King and Viola Greene King and preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Kathryn King, and a son-in-law, Doug Davison. He was a retired used furniture dealer with the Bargain Barn in Brunswick and was a member of Taylor's United Methodist Church in Brunswick. Survivors include his wife: Glenda Glosson King of Brunswick; 2 daughters: Melanie King Davison of Athens, GA, Dana King of Atlanta, GA; 2 brothers, Larry Wayne King of Columbia, SC, Gary Lynn King of Eatonton, GA; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
