A native of Banks County, Mr. Burrell was a son of the late John Robert and Emma Rose Meeks Burrell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served in the Rhineland Campaign in Central Europe. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Service Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. He was a lifetime member of Grant Reeves VFW Post 7720, Cornelia Lodge 92 and Demorest Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Revs. Tom Mewborn and Brian James officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Ann Sanders Burrell; a daughter, Barbara Bramlett, Cornelia; a son, David Burrell, Cornelia; two sisters, Maxine Tench and Ruth Andrews, both of Cornelia; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A native of Yonkers, N.Y., Mr. Ordine was a son of Edith Fazio Ordine, Hartwell, and the late Emmanuel Fredrick ''Willie'' Ordine. He was a trouble shooter employed by Mobile Heating Service and was a member of Lady of Grace Catholic Church, New York City. A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Terence Kane officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Ken died on Tuesday, December 12th, peacefully at home, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was the son of the late Grace D. Shirley and Harry K. Shirley. A Military Service will Full honors will be held Saturday, December 16th at 1:00 p.m. at First Calvary Baptist Church, Cedar Grove Road, Leesville, SC. The service will be conducted by the Reverend John C. Muller, Sr. The body will lie in state from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 15th at Caughman-Harman Funeral Homes, Lexington Chapel, Lexington, S.C. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1374, Columbia, SC 29202. Ken grew up in Park Street Baptist Church, he graduated from Columbia High School and the University of South Carolina. He received a Masters in Business with Distinction from Harvard Business School. He rose to the rank of Captain in the United States Navy, Supply Corps. He served on several ships, the last being the USS Enterprise, CVN 65. Upon retiring from the Navy, he became the Treasurer of Universities research Association in Washington, DC for 8 years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce Allen; daughters, sons and granddaughter. Marie Elizabeth Shirley, Trish and Tom Fine of Lexington, Michael and Andrew Shirley of Georgia and granddaughter, Libby Anne Fine (SweetPea). His uncle, J. Royce Cooper of California and aunt, June Cooper of West Columbia. He was predeceased by his grandson, Matthew B. Shirley. Ken was a devoted husband, loving father, and Popeye. Ken was an active member of First Calvary Baptist Church, where he was involved in local, state and national mission projects. He will be greatly missed by all.
