A native of Anderson County, S.C., Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Eugene and Louise Brissey Major and was the widow of Carey W. King. She was formerly employed by Hartwell Mills and was owner and operator of Gail King Income Tax Service. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, where she was church pianist and secretary/treasurer. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Prospect Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Olds and Ted Kelley officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Survivors include her husband, John H. She was retired as a registered nurse from Wilkes County after 24 years and was a member of Washington Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Pilot Club for 38 years and Circle 3 Women of the Church. She served on the advisory boards for Care South Professional Home Health Agency and for Wilkes County Nutrition Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with the Rev. Charlie Cox officiating. Survivors include a son, E.
