A native of Hart County, Mr. Bishop was a son of the late Henry Jesse and Macy Lee Burns Bishop. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a member of Reed Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Ribbon. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Wayne Durden officiating. Burial will be in Reed Creek Baptist Church cemetery with full military rites. Survivors include his wife, Jo Beth ''Betty'' Boleman Bishop; four daughters, Melinda Bishop, Phoenix, Ariz., Johnnie Sue Sanders, Wanda Jordan and Peggy Wood, all of Hartwell; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A native of Bladwinsville, NY, Dr. Adsit was the son of the late J. Leonard and Grace Huntington Adsit. He was a graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, and received an MMS from Tulane. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and a veteran of WWII. He later retired from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. As well as being a member of numerous veterinary organizations, Dr. Adsit was a member of the Athens Area Kiwanis Club, the Clarke-Oconee Cattleman's Club, and Trinity Lutheran Church.
