A native of Sandy Cross Community, Mrs. Wood was a daughter of Alberta Rhodes, Sandy Cross, and the late Samuel William Rhodes. She was a former manager of Johnson Inn, Washington, and was a member of Sandy Cross Methodist Church and Sharon Garden Club. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sandy Cross Methodist Church with the Revs. Sam Miller and Samuel Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Benjamin F. A native of Derby, Conn., Mr. Potucek was a son of Daniel Franklin Potucek Sr. of Shelton, Conn., and the late Beverly Rita Tucci. He was a fourth-year entomology student at the University of Georgia and was employed as an assistant in the UGA Biology Lab. He was a member of the Entomological Society Association. Matthew was born July 26, 1971 in Lebanon, Ind. He was a graduate of Columbus North High School, and graduated Magna cum Laude from Vincennes University in 1994. The Athens-Clarke County Landfill employed him. Matthew was very active in the community, especially the local music community. Survivors include Glen and Janet Stephenson of Columbus, IN, his parents, Melissa and Josh Henderson of San Marcos, TX, his sister and brother-in-law, and Corey Parks-Stephenson of Huntington Beach, CA, his wife. A large and loving network of family and friends will miss Matt's unique presence. He will remain alive in stories of his unique kindness, sense of humor, and sensitivity. A memorial concert is planned at Tasty World, a club in Athens, to be held on Thursday, August 17, starting at 10 p.m. All proceeds from the concert will go to the Matt Stephenson Memorial Fund, with a donation to the Mental Health Association of Northeast Georgia in Matt's name. A memorial service, to celebrate Matthew's life will be held at the Donner Center, in Columbus, Ind. on Saturday, August 26. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Autry was the son of the late Joseph Atticus and Annie Pearl Dooley Autry. He was retired from Civil Service in Augusta, GA and served in the US Army in WWII.
