A native of Georgia and a long time member of New Harmony Baptist Church, Mr. Brewer served his country during W.W.II with the 692nd Tank Destroyer Battalion in the European Theatre before entering private enterprise. Survivors include; his wife of 60 years Wortie Lee Brewer, two children: Sandra Andrews and William R. Brewer, Jr. of Nicholson; three granddaughters: Donna Lynn Hughes of Bethlehem, Melissa Lynn Brewer-Haynes of Hull, and Amanda Kay Brewer of Nicholson; one great-grandson: Nicholas Tyler Hughes of Bethlehem; three sisters: Marcus Parks of Athens, Julia Broom of South Carolina, and Mozelle Bellemy of Tennessee. He was a member of Springfield First Presbyterian Church, Springfield, N.J. He was a 1948 graduate of New Jersey High School and a 1962 graduate of Rutgers University.
