A native of Wilkes County, Mrs. Watkins was a daughter of the late Garland and Annette King Mattox. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda M. Bell. She was retired from Henson Garment Co. and was a member of Clifford Grove Baptist Church, Rayle. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Clifford Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jaworski, 57, 156 Beaver Trail died Sunday, January 16, 2000. A native of Rhode Island, Dr. Jaworski was a son of the late Walter Edward, Sr. and Millie Lemek. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Jaworski. He earned his undergraduate degree from Providence College, Providence, RI and his Master's and Doctoral degrees from the University of Arizona. Dr. Jaworski arrived at the University of Georgia in 1969 as a post-doctoral researcher. He later joined the faculty as Assistant Professor and rose to the rank of Professor. For the past five years he has served as the Head of the Botany Department. During his career as the University of Georgia, Dr. Jaworski taught literally tens of thousands of students their basic Biology course. He was the recipient of a Meigs Award, the University's highest honor for teaching. He was also well known as a loyal supporter of UGA's football DAWGS. He enjoyed fishing, maintaining his yard and was a gourmet cook. Dr. Jaworski is survived by his wife, Ida Yates Jaworski, Athens, and his two children, Sarah Elizabeth Jaworski, Savannah, GA and Nathan Alan Jaworski, Athens, GA; brothers, Walter Edward Jaworski, Jr., Norfolk, MA, Jan Jaworski, Oxford, OH, Gary Jaworski, Candia, NH; sisters: Janice Fagan, Woonsocket, RI, Diane Jaworski-Faulhaber, San Leandro, CA, Laurianne Jaworski, Harwich Port, MA, Nancy Harpin, Las Vegas, NV, Marlene Jaworski, Hudson, MA; brother-in-law: Clayton Yates, Purlear, NC; fourteen nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews. He was 82. Ratiu died in a London hospice late Sunday after suffering esophagus cancer for two months.
