A native of Gwinnett County, Mr. Montgomery was a son of the late Emory Anderson and Lula Wood Montgomery. He was retired from General Motors, was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. A native of New York, Mrs. Tugend was a daughter of the late Edmond and Emily Downs Gleason. She was a homemaker and sign language interpreter with the Stephens County School System. She was a member of the Clemson Kennel Club, the Mid-Florida Shetland Sheepdog Club and the Georgia Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. She attended Liberty Baptist Church where she was leader of the Awana youth group. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Roselane Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, William R. Tugend; four daughters, Linda Milstead, Alpharetta, Wendy Larkin, Canton, N.C., Cindy Dick, Yam-Hill, Ore., and Tammy Murphy, Franklinton, La.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Lee Andrew and Bertha E. Watkins Brown, and the widower of Almeda E. Martin Brown. A brother, Robert L. Brown, preceded him in death. Mr. Brown was a former Chairman, Board of Deacons, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and a member of Star of Mt. Zion #370 Masonic Order. He was retired from Russell Research.
