A native of Jackson County, Miss Wardlaw was a daughter of the late Rufus Franklin Wardlaw and Mary Caroline Rice Wardlaw. She was a retired registered nurse and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Kenneth Dillard and Robert Passmore officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery. A native of Athens, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Coarse and Emma Ida Allen Brumby and was the widow of Albert Smith. She was retired from East Athens Community Day Care Center. She was a life member of VFW Post 3910 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of Thankful Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Thankful Baptist Church with Pastor Nathaniel Ervin officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include two godsons, Michael Holliday and Ralph Bolds Jr.; nieces and nephews. Members of VFW Post 3910 Ladies Auxiliary will serve as honorary pallbearers. Survivors include his wife, Rena Smith Brittian, Athens; brother-in-law, Webster E. Ramey, Athens; sister-in-law, Berdia Brittian, Athens; nephew, David Brittian, Peachtree City; and niece, Joan Philmore, Austin, TX.
