He was a graduate of South Georgia College and was a 1949 graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Wyche Oil Co. for 30 years. He was past president of Elbert County Chamber of Commerce and the Elberton Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow and Will Watt Fellow. He was a member, deacon and Elder of First Presbyterian Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Doug Hilliard and Dr. Wade Huie officiating.
