He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Ohio. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Stine-Kilburn Funeral Home, Ohio. Burial will be in South Lebanon Cemetery. A native of Walton County, Mrs. Hammond was a daughter of the late Lon and Nancy Malcom Richardson and was the widow of Irby C. Hammond. She was a retired homemaker and farmer in Oconee County. She was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Arthur Bowick's Oconee Chapel, Watkinsville, with the Rev. Don Fuller officiating. A native of McDowell County, WV, Mr. Parsons was a son of the late Freland Parsons and Ella Day Whittamore Parsons and was the widower of Gladys Ruth Hart Parsons. He was a coal miner and lumberjack and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Franklin Memorial Gardens North, Lavonia, with Dr. Joe Renfro and Rev. Bob Alewine officiating. Survivors include six daughters, Janice Baird, Lavonia, Barbara Vance, Columbus, Deborah Silcox, War, WV, Ruby Shutler, Moundsville, WV, Pamela Van Fossen and Donna Hoffman, both of Columbus, Ohio; six sons, Ora James Parsons Jr. and Ernest Parsons, both of Columbus, Ohio, Ronnie Parsons, Andy Parsons and Jack Parsons, all of Lavonia, and Rudy Parsons, Moundsville, WV; a sister, Ruby Hunter, Elbert, WV; 31 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a charter member of Morningside Presbyterian Church, Columbus, and was a member of Clarkesville Presbyterian Church.
