A native of Blue Jay, West Virginia, Mr. Harris was a son of the late Fratie Carl and Mildred Miller Harris. He was preceded in death by sisters, Maxine Smith and Ruth Shave. He was retired from the Georgia State Department of Transportation. Mr. Harris was a Chief Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force with 33 years of service. He served during World War II, Korea, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Vietnam and twice received the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Al Sihah Temple in Macon and was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Athens.
