Andrew Clark Athens The Rev. Andrew Clark, 86, of 385 N. Chase St. died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000. A native of Madison County, Mr. Clark was a son of the late Berta Patterson Clark and was the widower of Flora Patterson Clark. He was preceded in death by a son, David R. Clark. He was a member of Huff Grove Baptist Church, the NAACP, Masonic Lodge of Athens, Savannah River Association, National Baptist Convention, Young Ministers Union, and the Deacon Fellowship Brotherhood. He was pastor of the following Baptist churches: Harmonia in Maxeys, New Grove in Athens, Fairplay in Hull, Summer Hill in Jefferson, Zion Hill in Carnesville, Rose Hill in Elberton and St. Paul in Woodville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Huff Grove Baptist Church, Nicholson, with the Rev. James Collins officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Clark, Crawford; two daughters, Rosa Clark Sanders, Athens, and Mary E. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2000 Rene L. Robinson Melbourne, Fla. Mrs. Rene L. Robinson, 82, died at Holmes Regional Medical Center on 19 September 2000. She was born in Hornell, NY, the daughter of Earl and Hazel Richtmyer. She resided in Watkinsville, GA from 1979, until moving to Brevard County, FL in 1995. She graduated from Hornell High School in 1935 and from Alfred University, Alfred, NY in 1939 with a degree in Ceramic Fine Arts. Most of her employment was as a Geological Draftsman with Getty Oil Co. before retiring in 1979. During WWII, she served with the WAC, principally as a Tower Operator at three of our Air Corps bases. She was a member of the following organizations: Space Coast Chapter #64, WAC Veterans Association and was their 3rd VP; The Abigail Wright Chamberlain Chapter, Daughters of the Revolution; Shilah Temple #151, Daughters of the Nile; Scottish Rite Ladies Auxiliary, all in Melbourne. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Watkinsville, GA. While in Watkinsville, she was a member of the United Methodist Church and later a co-founder and member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Athens, GA. She was very much interested in Art, particularly Ceramic Art and Pottery, Painting, Computers, Sewing, History and Genealogy, as her paternal and maternal parentage arrived in this country in the 17th and 18th Centuries. She is survived by her husband Robert J. and the following Step-Children: Sons Robert J. ''Chris'' Robinson, Gainesville, FL; Richard R. Robinson, Key West, FL; Daughters Hillary R. Smith, No. Palm Beach, FL; Elizabeth R. Cruise, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Merrilyn R. Halberstadt, Charlotte, NC.; Four step Grandchildren and one step Great Great Grandchild.
