A native of Banks County, Mr. Cash moved to Cobb County in 1949. He was a World War II marine veteran and was a 36-year employee of National Linen Service. He was a member of Smyrna Second Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carmichael Funeral Home with the Revs. Cecil Dutton and T.P. Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Homer. Survivors include his wife, Joyce R. Cash; four sons, Jerome Deward Cash, Canton, David Mark Cash, Homer, Samuel Gresham Cash, Athens, and John Reed Cash, Woodstock; four sisters, Geneva Brewer and Revalee Ayers, both of Marietta, Sarah Vickery, Smyrna, and Laverne Fletcher, Tallahassee; and 10 grandchildren. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 9:43 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2000 Bruce Neave Martin Bruce Edward Neave, 35, of 380 Wood Road, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000. A native of Oakland, Calif., Mr. Neave was a son of Sybilene Pritchett Neave, Martin, and James Lloyd Neave, Comer. He attended Franklin County High School and was an independent contractor in drywall finishing and owner of Neave Brothers Construction Company. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Grady Jordan officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Tracy Coker Neave; a son, Brian James Neave; a stepdaughter, Kathi Grier; a stepson, Justin Grier; a sister, Sheila Westbrooks, Royston; and two brothers, Jeff Neave, Alto, and Mike Neave, Seneca, S.C. A native of Fulton County, Mrs. Porterfield was a daughter of the late Patrick Henry and Norma Eloise Applewhite Sanders Sr., was the widow of Joe Porterfield and was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Porterfield. She was a retired claims representative with the Social Security Administration. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Bethel Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Bruce Kesler officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Porterfield, Royston; a sister, Anna Warwick, Washington, D.C.; a brother, Patrick Henry Sanders Jr., Meridan, Miss.; two nieces and a nephew. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Pruitt Funeral Home.
