A native of Morgan County, Mr. Shepherd was a son of the late Willie Shepherd and Eva Mell Bailey, and was the widower of Mae Lankford. He was a retired laborer for International Furniture Company. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Simmons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Peterson officiating. The body will be placed in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Martha S. Stewart, Madison; nieces and nephews. A native of Madison County, Mr. Guest is a son of the late Arthur and Terilla Looney Akins, and was the widow of Hoyt E. Guest. She worked for Blue Bell Textile and was a member of New Town Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Town Baptist Church with the Revs. James Yeargon and Tom Dial officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy L. Seymour, Carlton; and five grandchildren. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 8:17 a.m. on Monday, February 28, 2000 Louis Bishop Jordan Homer Mr. Louis Bishop Jordan, age 79, of 1750 Highway 51, South Homer, died Sunday morning at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Jordan was a retired inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe where he was a prisoner of war. He was a member of the Homer American Legion and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Jordan was the son of the late Luther C. and Lillie Bell White Jordan. He was twice married; first to the late Mildred Scales Jordan and second to Betty Simmons Jordan of Homer, Ga. Other survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Allen, Lakemont, Ga.; granddaughter, Michelle Pelot, Birmingham, Ala.; grandson, Louis Phillip Pelot, Royston, Ga.; sisters, Mattie Jean Ayers, Commerce, Ga., Joann Jordan, Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Weldon Jordan, Homer, Ga.; stepchildren, Clarice Sosbee, Alto, Ga., Faye Dunagun, Gillsville, Ga., Gaye Galloway, Baldwin, Ga., and Miles John Bonds, Alto, Ga. Mrs. Adams was a longtime resident of Athens, Ga., and was retired from the University of Georgia Extension Service and Foote and Davies as a secretary. She was a member of Milledge Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her parents, the late Mr. Robert Lee Wilson and Mrs. Lessie Benton Wilson. She is survived by her son, Robert E. ''Bob'' Adams, and daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Adams, of Gainesville, Ga.; grandchildren, Al Adams and wife, Pam Adams, of Atlanta, Ga., Jane Adams Dukes of Macon, Ga., Sally Adams Roberts of Gainesville, Ga., Jimmy Adams and wife, Betsy Adams, of Gainesville, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
