A native of Franklin County, Mr. Smith was a son of the late Bennie and Elsie Carruth Smith. He was a self-employed plumber and electrician and worked as a maintenance worker at Emmanuel College. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home with the Revs. H. Duane Hall and Williard Crider officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Betty Olivia Seagraves Smith; two daughters, Joy Chitwood and Patricia Smith, both of Royston; three sons, Anthony Wayne Smith and Davis Michael Smith, both of Royston, and Byron Dale Smith, Elm City, N.C.; a sister, Marjorie Sartain, Royston; three brothers, Bob Smith and Roger ''Scoot'' Smith, both of Royston, and Donnie Smith, Stone Mountain; 11 grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. A native of Greene County, Mrs. Googer was a daughter of the late Ewell and Annie Rhodes Googer. She was a staff sergeant in the WAC during World War II in Rome and Northern Africa. She was retired as manager for Food Service Towne Tavern and was the owner of Anne Restaurant, Union Point. She attended North Georgia College and was a member of Union Point First Baptist Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Wisteria Cemetery, Union Point, with Dr. Michael Long officiating. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, the American Legion, and the Statham Masonic Lodge. He was a cattle farmer and owner/operator of Baker Trailer Park.
