A native of Clarke County, Mr. Sims was a son of Luther Hopkins and Geneva Duncan. He was preceded in death by a son, Lionel Laster Sims. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Springfield Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Rucker officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Elzonia Yearby, Athens; two brothers, Etrich P. Williams, Rialto, Calif., and Leo Davenport, Athens; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family is at the residence. A native of Somerville, N.J., Mrs. Turner was a daughter of the late Fritz and Anna Biercamp Eggert. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church of God, Watkinsville, and was a food service worker at Russell Middle School, Winder. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Tracy Reynolds officiating. Survivors include her husband, Orie B. Brown, 88, of 395 Fowler Drive died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Bill Elder and Martha Camp. She was a housewife and was a member of New Hope Methodist Church, Hoschton. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Forestglen Mortuary with the Rev. Larry Norman officiating. A native of Lexington, Mrs. Mewbourne was a daughter of the late Judge Joel and Hattie Connor Cloud and was the widow of Lloyd Mewbourne. She was a graduate of Athens High School and Georgia College for Women, Milledgeville. She taught school in Florida and in Elberton. She was a member of Elberton First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of Women of the Church. She was president of Women of the Church of Athens Presbytery and was a member of Elbert County Historical Society. She was active in garden club work at the local and state levels. Services will be at 11 p.m. Wednesday in Elmhurst Cemetery with Dr. Wade Huie Jr. and the Rev. Doug Hilliard officiating. Survivors include a son, Lloyd Mewbourne; a sister, Harriette Lawson, Gainesville; two granddaughters; a niece and a nephew; and two great-nephews.
