Services will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Hamby Funeral Home, Lavonia. Burial will be in Lavonia City Cemetery. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from Olin Mills Photography Studios. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Hillcrest Cemetery, Bowman, with the Rev. Rand Freer officiating. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Scott was a daughter of the late Matthew and Lexie Johnson Smith. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Frances Mills. She was retired from Stephens County Hospital and was a member of New Light Baptist Church. Shaw was born August 22, 1908, in Athens, Ga., and died September 23, 2000, in Sebring, Fla. He married Mable Bond in 1929 in Athens, where they resided until 1981. Will retired from Mathis Construction Co. in Athens in 1970. In 1981 he and Mable became Florida residents. They lived in Homestead for 11 years. After Hurricane Andrew, they settled in Sebring. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cliff Shaw and a sister Mamie Dillard. Survivors include his wife of 71 years Mable, daughters Carol and son-in-law Lamar Milligan of Warner Robins, Betty Jean Biringer of Anderson, SC., Jerry and son-in-law Carey Starling of Jacksonville, Fla., Marie and son-in-law Jack Kubitz of Manitowoc, WI., nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held October 2nd, 11 a.m. at Princeton United Methodist Church, South Lumpkin Street, Athens. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the church will be appreciated. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2000 Barbara Hubert Coram Lavonia Barbara Hubert Coram, of 5637 Vickery Street, Lavonia, GA, died Friday, September 29, 2000 at the residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Coram was born July 23, 1932, in Athens, GA, to the late Dr. Marion Albon and Hattie Hart Catogni Hubert. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hunter Coram. Mrs. Coram was a graduate of the Athens High School, Athens, GA, a 1952 graduate of the University GA., and also a graduate of the Emory University School of Medicine. Mrs. Coram was a member of the St. Matthias Episcopal Church, Toccoa, GA, and the Altar Guild. In addition to her many church activities, Mrs. Coram was very active in many organizations, including but not limited to: a sustaining member of the Phi Mu Sorority, sustaining member of the Junior League of Athens, lifetime member of the Master Gardeners of America, Lavonia Garden Club, Lavonia Select Bridge Club and a member of the Lake Burton Civic Association. Mrs. Coram's survivors include: one son, John Hunter Coram Jr. and daughter-in-law, Francy Bledsoe Coram, Statham, GA, one daughter, Catogni (Toni) Coram Smith and son-in-law, Michael Neal Smith, Bogart, GA, six grandchildren, John Hunter Coram III., Frank Hubert Coram, Elizabeth Marion Coram, all of Statham, Morgan Catogni (Cati) Smith, Michael Neal Smith Jr., and Barbara Ellen Smith, all of Bogart, GA., and one sister, Faith Hubert Newell, Atlanta, GA.
