She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patsy J. Smith and Phyllis Dunn Ashley. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Owens graduated from Hillsborough High School and received a degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He owned and operated Owens Tire Company, Tampa. He was an active volunteer in the Meals on Wheels and Tampa Bay Harvest organizations. He was a member of the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a member of the Temple Terrace United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carnesville United Methodist Church with the Rev.
