He was a retired custodian for Barrow Medical Center and was a member of Chapel Christian Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Donnie Pennington officiating. Survivors include four sons, Larry E. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Sanders was a daughter of the late Weaver and Nora Brown Adkins, and was the widow of Joseph Thomas Sanders. She was a homemaker and was active in WMU. She attended Salem Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She was a graduate of Hayesville North Carolina High School and Georgia State College for Women, and earned a bachelor's degree in home economics. She was a teacher in the Oconee County S.C. School System and was a co-owner of Smith's Pharmacy. She was a member of the Toccoa Garden Club and the Toccoa Bird Club, served as secretary for the Stephens County Republican Party and was president of the Downtown Merchant's Association. She attended Toccoa First Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on the administrative board.
