He was a past president of Georgia Pharmaceutical Association and the Fifth Region. He served on the Georgia Board of Pharmacy for five years and was president of the board. He was on the board of directors of the Georgia Pharmacy Foundation. He was a member of Lavonia First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member.
