A native of Greene County, Mrs. Channell was a daughter of the late Courtney Ivan and Lula May Bridges McDonald, was the widow of Calvin Henry Channell and was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Channell Thackston. She was a lifelong resident of Greene County and was retired from Mary Leila Cotton Mill as a seamstress. She was a member of West End Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West End Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Usry and Robert Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery. Survivors include a brother, Ernest McDonald; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bennie Channell, Howard Channell Jr., Brian Channell, Scott Channell, Jimmy Thurmond, Clifford Smith, Jeff Snipes, David Snipes and Jim Thurmond. She had resided in Toccoa since 1971 and was retired from the Kresge Company. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Clack Stubbs officiating. Cohen Beasley of Elberton. She attended schools in Tifton and was an honor graduate of Japer County High School in Monticello. She was a member of Beech Haven Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held today , July 2, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Beech Haven Baptist Church. Dr. Stewart Simms and Ms. Rachel Torrence will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Nellie Collins Harrison; two daughters, Nina Stephens and Elaine Crunkleton, both of Eastanollee; a son, Fred Harrison, Eastanollee; a sister, Evelyn Rumsey, Eastanollee; a brother, Raleigh Harrison, Eastanollee; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
