A native of Marion County, N.C., Dr. Jordan was the son of the late Cedric R. and Sara Foxworth Jordan. His wife, Dorris Opt Johnson and a brother, Caper Jordan, preceded him in death. He had resided here in Athens for over 50 years and was head of the Entomology Department at the University of Georgia before his retirement. He was a member of the Entomological Society of America, Georgia Entomological Society and the Georgia Association of County Agents. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Denise Jordan, Athens; daughter, Judy Jordan, Winston-Salem, N.C.; dear friends, Johnnie Armstrong and Edna Johnson, both of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
