She facilitated the economic development of the community and provided guidance for the proper use of federal funds for various million dollar projects, including the Triangle Plaza Rehabilitation Project, The Athens Regional Attention Home, the Miriam Moore Community Service Center and the Hancock Corridor Development Corporation, East Athens Development Corporation. She was a board member for Habitat for Humanity, a member of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, a committee member for the Northeast Georgia P-16 Aspiration Commission and Georgia Board of Regents Education Advisory Panel for the State of Georgia. She was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Oconee County Civic Center, Watkinsville, with selected ministers officiating.
