OBITUARIES Story last updated at 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2001 Cora Clark Jackson Athens Mrs. Cora Clark Jackson of 1092 West Broad St. passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief hospital stay. Death was peaceful for Cora. Born the oldest child of Mrs. Gladys and the late Matthew Clark Sr., her formative years consisted of education on the public school system in Oconee and Clarke Counties. She was married to Thomas Jackson. ''Hard work'' seemed such a fitting middle name for Cora. She loved work. Being the oldest gave her the title of care giver which she carried until her death. Always looking after and caring for her sisters and brother and being their best friend as well. She was always doing for others. While we're adding names we can't forget ''Fun.'' Laughter was always with her. ''A merry heart is medicine for the soul.'' Later, she moved to Indiana where she obtained her CNA title, still in the care business. After moving back to Athens, she found work as a Private Duty Caregiver, where she worked until her death. I don't have to tell you about her awards or her church affiliation. Just know that she knew who God is and that Jesus loved her. The life she lived spoke for her. Her greatest joy was in helping others. She will be sorrily missed by her mom, Gladys Clark; two sisters, Patricia C. Snelling and Magnolia Clark; a brother, Matthew Clark Jr. Two brothers preceded her in death, Thomas and Willie James Clark; and one son preceded her death, Samuel Le'Nelson Jackson. A memorial service will be held today, Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Forestglen Mortuary Chapel. Forestglen Mortuary assisting the family.
