She worked for Orkin Pest Control in Louisiana, and was a social worker for the State of Louisiana. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Arthur Bowick's Oconee Chapel with the Rev. Roger Whitley officiating. Burial will be in Oconee Memorial Park. Mr. Brown was the son of Doris Bray, Winder, and the late Wilbert Parks Brown. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frankie Wilbert Brown and Michael Seneca Bray. Mr. Brown retired from the U.S. Army after serving two tours of Vietnam and was wounded on his second tour. He was a Green Baret serving in the Special Force Chapter 21. Mr. Brown was the recipient of many wards including: National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Purple Heart, Silverstar, Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Commendation Medal, Civil Actions Medal, Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge, Republic of Vietnam Staff Service Honor Medal, Scuba Badge, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Thai Jump Wings, Good Conduct Medal(7th award). Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Oconee Hills Cemetery, Athens.
