A native of Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Parker Allen and Bertie Inez Thrasher Allen and was the widow of Loyd Paul Lewis Sr. She was retired from Boaz Carpet Yarns of Royston and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Hart County Hospital. She attended Prices Chapel Church of God where she served in the Ladies Ministries. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Survivors include a son, Loyd Paul Lewis Jr., Gainesville; two daughters, Mary Jo Williford and Paulette Harper, both of Hartwell; four sisters, Peggy Barbara Pierce, Hartwell, Betty Doggett, Canon, Carolyn Patrick, Commerce, and Mary Brown, Greenville, S.C.; and seven grandchildren. She was a former resident of Comer and had resided in Hancock County for the past 10 years. She was a homemaker and a member of New Beginning Church. He was 83. Mr. Christian was the son of the late Mr. Fred Cleveland and Effie White Christian. He served in the US Army Air Force during WWII, was in the VFW Post 2872 in Athens, was a member of Colbert Baptist Church and was a retired contractor. Mr. Christian is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Robert Allen and Fran Ballard Christian of Duluth, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law: Debra Christain and Stanley E. Wallace of Bogart, Ga.; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law: John Allen and Stephanie Lanzing Christian of Buford, Ga.; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law: Laura Whitehead and John Read Kethley of Athens, Ga.; two great-grandchildren: Robert Michael Christian of Buford, Ga., and Ansley Elizabeth Whitehead of Athens, Ga.; and a sister-in-law: Ola Lee Draper of Hartwell, Ga.
