Charles Eric Johnson, 22, of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, beloved son of Gail H. and Arthur E. Johnson of Bay St. Louis and Patricia N. and Paul J. Cardozo of Athens, Georgia, died on April 11, 2001 of accidental asphyxiation. Charles was one of four children and is survived by his brother, Andrew N. Johnson of San Antonio, Texas, and his sisters, Kendra M. Lee of Atlanta, Georgia, and Andrea L. Lee of New Orleans, Louisiana. He also leaves his grandparents, Bee and Andrew Johnson and William Noble of San Antonio, and Louise Hutto of Winter Park, Florida. He was a 1996 graduate of St. Stansilaus College where he was active in band and SADD. He attended University of South Alabama and Jeff Davis Community College. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, where he had served as an acolyte. Charles' life was epitomized by love. He loved life and his family, and he loved all of God's creation, especially Bay St. Louis, the sea, and the islands. He was a faithful and loving friend to multitudes, and will be missed and mourned by many. He now rests in God's love. The Office for the Burial of the Dead will be read and the Holy Eucharist celebrated at Christ Episcopal Church in Bay St. Louis, MS, on Monday, April 16, 2001 at noon with visitation at the church at 11:00 a.m. The Very Rev. James B. Roberts will officiate at the burial and the Rt. Rev. Duncan M. Gray III, Bishop of Mississippi, will be the Celebrant. The sermon will be offered by the Rev. Jon A. Caridad.
