Mr. Kiley was a son of the late Jesse and Bertha K. Kiley. He was a manager of a Fina Service Station and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Mike Phillips, Don Leaptrott and Kenneth Brewer officiating. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 6:34 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 Norman Howell Hartwell Norman Arthur Howell, 77, of 41 Pinecrest Drive died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001. A native of Bay City, Mich., Mr. Howell was son of the late Arthur and Cecilia Howell. He retired from the U.S. Navy as master chief after 24 years and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of the Blue Angels for six years and was in quality assurance at Point Mugu, where he worked with missiles. He worked on the Navy Research Lab (Space Program) and the HELO program, where he cataloged and tested. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Boating Traffic Safety veteran who served in Washington, D.C. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was of the Catholic faith. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Michigan. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Lorene Depeal Howell; a daughter, Michele Dipert, Apex, N .C.; a son, Michael Howell, Fort Worth, Texas; a stepdaughter, Michelle Tennis, Fenton, Mich.; a stepson, Michael Girard, Traverse City, Mich.; two sisters, Judy Depeal and Eilean Hamm, both of Bay City; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 6:34 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 Warren Chester Bonney Chico, Calif. Warren Chester Bonney, 80, formerly of Salem, Ore., died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000. A native of Garfield, Va., Mr. Bonney was a son of the late Harry and Maggie Blakeman Bonney. He was a faculty member of the University of Georgia College of Education Department of Counseling and Human Development Services from 1965-1987. He was department chair from 1967-1973 and was a UGA Professor Emeritus. Following his retirement, he continued to teach doctoral students on a part-time basis and served as a consultant and counselor at the Samaritan Counseling Center, Athens. He received a BA from Ohio State University, an MA from North Texas State University and, in 1958, a Ph.D. in Educational and Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Services Corps during World War II. Prior to his UGA tenure he was on the faculties of Texas A&M University and the University of Illinois. He was active in the American Counseling Association and the American Psychological Association. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Athens. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Bonney, Chico; two stepdaughters, Marinesa Letizia and Jacqueline Schrader; a brother, Merl Bonney, Boulder, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
