Albert C. Shealy, 95, of 2692 W. Main Street died Sunday, June 17, 2001. A native of Irmo, S.C., Mr. Shealy was a son of the late John Henry and Ella Lowman Shealy. He moved to Franklin Springs in 1920 with his family to attend Franklin Springs Institute, known today as Emmanuel College. In 1923, he became a licensed and ordained minister of the Pentecostal Holiness denomination. He has served in many of the churches in the Georgia Conference. He was a printer for 46 years at Pentecostal Holiness Publishing Plant, known today as LifeSprings Resources. He was a farmer after retiring, and assisted Franklin County with registering voters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Franklin Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. John Swails, Raymond Carr, Dr. A.D. Beacham, Jr., Durant Driggers, and Larry Harper officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will follow in Franklin Springs City Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Bessie Odelia Allen Shealy; two daughters, Emily Phillips, Franklin Springs, and Freida Gearhart, Isle of Palms, S.C.; four sons, Alton Shealy, Franklin Springs, Kenneth Shealy, Winterville, and Floyd Shealy, Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandsons; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Shealy, Mark Shealy, John Shealy, Jeff Shealy, Kip Gearhart, and David Phillips. The family is at the residence and will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Pruitt Funeral Home.
