A native of Gainesville, Fla., Dr. Pelham-Harris was the daughter of Ruth J. Pelham of Orlando, Fla., and the late Rev. W. Don Pelham. She graduated from Carver Heights High School as valedictorian, and attended and graduated with honors from Florida State University majoring in microbiology. She received a masters degree in microbiology from Georgia State University and attended Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. She began her career as a microbiologist for Centers for Disease Control. She was a physician with North Georgia Medical Center, where she later became medical director. She began her private practice in 1994 serving the Athens community. In 1989, she became a medical adviser to the Secretary of Health and Human Service. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, West, where she was involved in Women's ministry, Christian Education, and the choir. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church West with the Rev. Dr. Winfred M. Hope officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Following a career in textile management positions with Celanese, Allied Control, and the founding of Fiber Systems, Inc., Mr. Heard was a counselor at Amethyst in Charlotte, NC and the Boca House in Boca Raton, FL. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 8:18 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2001 Boisfeuillet Jones President emeritus of Woodruff Foundation Associated Press ATLANTA -- Boisfeuillet Jones, a former educator and federal official who was entrusted with handing out half a billion dollars as an administrator of philanthropic organizations, died Wednesday. He was 88. Jones died at Piedmont Hospital after falling, hitting his head and slipping into a coma at his Atlanta residence, said his son, Washington Post publisher Boisfeuillet Jones Jr. Jones received his undergraduate degree and his law degree from Emory University. In 1986, the Boisfeuillet Jones Center was opened at Emory. Besides his son, Jones is survived by his wife, Anne Baynon Register Jones; a daughter, Laura Hardman, and five grandchildren. His body was donated to Emory University School of Medicine, his son said.
