Seligson, 59, of Atlanta died on Monday, April 16, 2001, following a six month battle with lung cancer. Marion spent more than 30 years as an elementary school teacher in the City of Atlanta School System. Her career was devoted to teaching children from every type of background how to read. After heading a pilot program in Phonics several years ago at Lakewood Elementary School in Atlanta, she used her unique ability to open up a new world to countless students who will no doubt always remember her for the impact she made in their lives. Colleagues will follow her guidelines and the program that she created to help countless more children in the future. She was not only a dedicated teacher but a dedicated and strongly devoted mother and friend. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Ogulnick of Fort Lee, New Jersey; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and David Brooks of Athens, GA and Sharyl and Mark Naftal of Alpharetta, GA; and four grandchildren, Dillon and Erika Brooks and Lauren and Mitch Naftal who will miss her but never forget her. Funeral services are were held on Wednesday at Beth Israel Memorial Park in Woodbridge, New Jersey. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 22, at 8:00 p.m. at Temple Kehillat Chaim, 1145 Green Street, Roswell.
