Seigler, 77, of 4792 Bowersville Highway died Tuesday, April 24, 2001. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Seigler was the son of the late R.L Seigler and Etta Hilliard Seigler. He was retired from Mayfair Mill as a warp hanger. He worked with the Nursing Homes and Detention Center Ministries. He was an active member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School secretary, deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Happy Timer's Group. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Flat Shoals Baptist Church with the Revs. Mitchell Ash, Frank Sailers and Eddy Mattison officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Hicks, Seigler; two daughters, Linda Hayes, Bowersville, and Jane Wright, Hartwell; a son, Gerald Seigler; two brothers, Obie Seigler, Hartwell, and William Seigler, Bowersville; a step-sister, Annie Laura Griggs, Elberton; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 8:57 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 Bruce Williams Sausage maker ATLANTA -- Bruce Williams' sausage was never sold in supermarkets, but it was delivered by limousine to Georgia governors and smuggled into the White House for President Jimmy Carter. The sausage maker and grocer from Haralson, whose work was profiled in national magazines and newspapers, died Monday of congestive heart failure at Newnan Hospital in Coweta County. He was 62. Williams' famous Rooster Pepper sausage was named by Atlanta lawyer Griffin Bell, attorney general in the Carter administration. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 8:57 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 Emma Farmer Athens Emma Ruth Mahan Hudson Farmer died April 24, 2001. She was born in Walker County, Georgia, October 1917. She was the second child of William Carl and Annie Mahan. Her first husband, Bill Hudson, died in 1958. She later married Herman Farmer who died in 1996. She was a 1936 graduate of Whitwell High School in Whitwell, Tennessee and was instrumental in organizing on-going class reunions. She worked as a clerk in the Post Office for 26 years. She was an active member of the Sequatchie Valley Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Whitwell United Methodist Church. Since 1996, she resided in Athens with her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Eugene Holshouser. She is also survived by a son, Carl Hudson, and his wife, Joyce, who live in Hampton, Georgia; stepson, Ray Framer and his wife Patsy of Huntsville, Alabama; five grandchildren, Bill, Scot and Marin Mauldin, Kevin Hudson and Amanda Cloy; two great grandchildren, Jennifer Mauldin Rossi and Hannah Cloy; one great-great-grandchild, Phillip Rossi, Jr.; a sister, Ruby Hudson of Marietta; three brothers and sisters-in-law George and Donna Mahan of Spokane, Washington, Ralph and Mary Mahan of Seaford, DE and Ray and Bonnie Mahan, Chattanooga; two sisters-in-law, Nina Mahan of Chattanooga and Joanne Mahan Gholston of Whitwell, TN; two Hudson brothers- and sister-in-law, Ed and Marge Hudson of Knoxville, TN and Jim and Mattie Hudson of Huntsville, AL and several nieces and nephews.
