A native of Oconee County, Mr. Cobb was the son of the late Henry Herbert and Orinbelle Andrews Cobb. Mr. Cobb graduated from the University of Georgia in 1950 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He served with the 347th Squadron of the 459th Bomb Group and was stationed in Cherignola, Italy during World War II. In 1967 he bought Associates Realty and in 1968 he joined the Butler Corporation and operated the Butler Building and Bromsgrove Apartments until his retirement. He was a member of the Athens First Baptist Church and was also a member of the Athens Country Club where he was an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Butler Cobb, Athens; one son, Drew Cobb, Athens; one daughter, and son-in-law, Diane Cobb and Tony Dillard, Athens; one brother, Henry Herbert Cobb Jr., Athens; and nieces and nephews.
