F. M. BAILEY The Banner, Athens, Georgia, Friday morning, December 14, 1906 Transcribed by C. Epps Bond January 30, 2006 THE DEATH OF MRS. F. M. BAILEY ------ Jefferson, GA. Dec 8 – Mrs. Frank M. Bailey, of Jefferson, GA, died suddenly today at noon at her home in this place. Mrs. Bailey has been in bad health for the past month, suffering with cold, but none of her friends thought that there was any occasion for alarm and she was reported as late as yesterday afternoon to be much better. However, she took a sudden turn for the worse this morning and expired suddenly today at noon. Mrs. Bailey comes of one of the finest families, of Jackson County, having been a Miss Morrison before her marriage to Hon. F.M. Bailey, the present mayor pro tem of this city. Mrs. Bailey leaves three children, two daughters, Mrs. I. W. Rogers, and Mrs. C. L. Bond, both of this place, and one son, Rev. Edward Bailey, a member of the South Georgia Conference and stationed this year as pastor of the First Methodist Church at Sylvester, Ga. The Interment will occur at Woodbine Cemetery at this place on Sunday, the 9th. First Mrs. Bailey was a loving wife, a devoted mother and consecrated Christian woman and her death is felt as a distinct loss by her Christian co-workers in this place.
