V. BRADBERRY The Banner, Athens, Georgia, Friday morning, October 4, 1916 Transcribed by C. Epps Bond October 2, 2005 Bradberry, J. V. AGED CITIZEN DIED SUNDAY NIGHT IN CITY After an illness of several months Mr. J. V. Bradberry died at his home on Beuna Vista avenue, Sunday night about 10 o’clock. He had been a resident of Athens for many years, and was 78 years of age. Surviving him are three sons: Mr. H.Y. Bradberry, Mr. J. A. Bradberry and Mr. J. H. Bradberry, of Athens and four daughters: Mrs. C. W. Heard, Miss Bessie Bradberry, Miss Blanche Bradberry of Athens and Mrs. George Rice, of Neese, GA. The funeral will be conducted from the Baptist Tabernacle by Rev. E. H. Jennings and Dr. S. J. Cartledge at 10:30 this morning and interment will follow in Oconee cemetery. Mr. Bradberry was a Confederate veteran, a member of the Cobb-Delolly camp and the members of the camp will attend in a body. Mr. C. J. Kenney, Mr. B. L. Adams, Mr. J. L. McLeroy, Mr. J. B. Ware, Mr. G. O. Jackson and Mr. W. C. Wingfield will be the pallbearers.
