Jennie Mae Brooks Colbert Athens Banner-Herald on Tuesday, December 11, 2001. Jennie Mae Brooks Colbert Jennie Mae Brooks, 89, of 200 S. Fifth St., died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001. A native of Greene County, Mrs. Brooks was a daughter of Samuel G. and Isabelle Chandler Cartledge, and was the widow of Richard M. Brooks Sr. She was preceded in death by a son, Dolph R. Brooks. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Herman Presbyterian Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Hanley officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Grace Widner, Donalsonville, and Geraldine McElreath, Danielsville; four sons, Richard M. Brooks Jr., Watkinsville, James H. Brooks, Athens, Gerald R. Brooks, Bogart, and David W. Brooks, Comer; seven sisters, Myrl Wilson, Americus, Peggy McGinnis and Mary Fuller, both of Atlanta, Grace Fallin and Alma Epps, both of Hull, Thelma Smith, Athens, and Geraldine Avery, Gallin, Ala.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Grandsons will be pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
