BURNS DIED YESTERDAY -------- Aged Citizen of Jackson County Passes to His Rich Reward. Mr. James H. Burns died at his home near Apple Valley, Jackson county, yesterday at the advanced age of eighty-three years. He had been in failing health for some time past, and was partially paralyzed about seven weeks ago, from which he never recovered. He was married about 59 years ago to Miss Louisa K. Neal, of Franklin county, who survives him, she being about 79 years of age. They have reared a large family of children, all to become grown. The children who survive him are Mr. W. A. Burns, of this city, Messrs. A. J. Burns, and R. B. Burns, of Apple Valley, and Mrs. W. T. Stapler, of Commerce, five others having died several years ago. He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church, having joined Thyatira church near his home some 65 years ago and serving his Master as best he could through all these years, he died believing and trusting in his Lord.
