Claudia (maiden name Lamb) Childs was born 1-7-1885 and died 3-2-1964 (Ga. DC#
007767) and her husband, Ross R. Childs, was born abt 1888 and died 2-20-1942
(Ga. DC# 2518). Both are buried at Oconee Hill Cemetery.

Childs Rites to be Wednesday

Mrs. Claudis Childs, widow of R.R. Childs, died in a local hospital Monday at
2:15pm  She was 79 years old and had been ill for several weeks.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home
with the Rev. C.E. Darity, pastor of Cool Sprins Baptist Church, officiating. 
Burial will follow in Oconee Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Childs is survived by a sister, Mrs. R.T. Mormand, Macon, and a number of
nieces and nephews.

She was a native of Danville, GA and had lived here for the past forty years,
residing at 223 Wier Circle, Athens.

She was a member of the Baptist Church and after the death of her husband in
1942 made her home at the old Holman Hotel for a number of years. Her hobby was
writing including poetry, in which she was quite talented.
