DAVIE Services at Cherokee Corner Church and Interment There Saturday at Cherokee Corner church was held the funeral of Mrs. M. W. Davie, who passed away Thursday at her home in Oglethorpe county. Quite a large number of friends gathered at that time to pay tribute of their affections and the services were solemn and impressive. The funeral services ere conducted by Rev. L. G. Johnson, of the First Methodist church of this city and Rev. J. M. Sewell, of Winterville. Mr. Johnson preached a sermon of rare beauty and tenderness. The casket was borne to the grave by the pallbearers, Messrs. George Thomas, Andrew Crowley, Joe Dillard, James W. Morton, W.M. Hayes, and Marvin Hall. Col. A. F. Pope and Mr. James F. Dillard acted as honorary pallbearers.
