 Mrs. Joel E. Dean Dies; To Conduct Funeral Thursday
    Mrs. Joel E. Dean, 88, one of Clarke county’s oldest citizens, died at the
home of her grand-daughter on the Lexington road Wednesday morning.
    Services will be held at the home of Mrs. W.K. Eidson, on the Lexington
road, Thursday at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Mr. Barton, pastor of the Winterville
Methodist church will conduct the services.  Interment will be in the Dean
family cemetery, with Bernstein Funeral Home in charge.
    Pallbearers will be Cody David, Dean Amis, Hoyt Kelly, Dick Burch, Tunis
Morton , and Marvin Davis.  Mrs. Dean is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mattilda
Dean Smith; grand-daughter, Mrs. Eidson, and a great-grand-daughter, Frances
Dean Eidson.
