JOHN DEARING Remains laid to Rest Sunday Afternoon in Oconee Cemetery The remains of Mr .John A. Dearing, who died in Louisville, Ky, a few days since, arrived over the Seaboard Air Line railroad Sunday afternoon at half past two o’clock and were escorted at once to the cemetery by quite a number of warm friends. At the cemetery the funeral services were conducted in a solemn and impressive manner. The remains were born to the grave by the pall-bearers, Messrs J.H. Fleming, E. D. Sledge, E. Bancroft,Jr., J.H. Rucker, C. B. Griffith and Billups Phinizy. The choir consisting of Mr. J. F. Hart, Miss Ora Hart, Miss Susie Barrow and Messers. Strahan, Cranston and Barrow sang the hymns, “nearer My God to Thee” and “Jesus Loves my Soul.”. The services were conducted by Rev. Troy Batty?, rector of Emmanuel church in a most impressive manner and the remains of Mr. Dearing were interred by tender and loving hands to await the resurrection morn.
