Epps Bond 10/3/2005 The Banner Athens, Georgia Friday morning, June 1, 1906 Dubose, Kate Mrs. MRS KATE DUBOSE DIES IN SPARTA Passing Away of an Aged And Beloved Woman Saturday Saturday morning at her home in Sparta Mrs. Kate Dubose, aged 80 years, the widow of the late Colonel Charles W. Dubose, died after a long illness. Mrs. Dubose was the grandmother of Messrs. C. W. Dubose, M. D. Dubose, C. S. Dubose and Miss Katie Louise Dubose, of this city. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, and the ideal of intellectual womanhood. Before age and affliction laid their blighting touch upon her faculties, she was a regular contributor the best literary periodicals of the day. Her poems are gems in originality of conception, depth of feeling and elevation of sentiment. Thre sons survive her: Col. A Miller Dubose of Sparta, Dr. W. R. Dubose, surgeon of the United States navy, and Dr. George P. Dubose of Washington, D.C.
