Mivred S. Fulcher, 84, of Jefferson, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006.

A native of Clarke County, she was the daughter of the late Homer L. and Madge 
McDonald Spinks. She retired from the Jackson County Board of Education where 
she was employed at the South Jackson Elementary School. She was a longtime 
member of the Attica Baptist Church. Mrs. Fulcher was preceded in death by her 
husband, Austin R. Fulcher.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Herschel Howington 
and Denise and Walt Temple, all of Jefferson, Elaine and Kevin Carter, 
Elberton; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Brenda Fulcher, Athens, Terry 
and Diana Fulcher and Homer Joe and Mari Fulcher, all of Jefferson; 
grandchildren, Brooke Rooks and Cliff Howington, Todd, Ty and Bree Fulcher, 
Ryan and Chad Fulcher, Christy Corbett, Jason, Megan, Austin and Colbie 
Fulcher, Jud and Kyle Temple, April Quick and Autum Flemming; great-
grandchildren, Skyler Howington, Jesse and Reid Fulcher, Kendall, Luke and 
Emma Kate Fulcher, DeAnna Heath, Alex and Eli Corbett, Andrew and Haley 
Fulcher, Tristen Kidd and Heather Quick; sisters, Madge Coon, Macon, Diane 
Starling, Gray, and Davida Spinks, Crawford; brothers, Marion C. “Bud” Spinks, 
Carlton, and Mack Spinks, Athens; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 28, in the chapel of Bernstein 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Kelly and Pastor Shane Moore officiating. 
Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
