Gunn, well known Atlanta contractor, were held Monday morning in Athens, her former home. Mrs. Gunn died Saturday at a private sanitarium following an operation. She had been ill only one day. Mrs. Gunn, who was forty-two years of age, was the widow of Mr. R.S. Wingfield, prominent Atlanta merchant, who died about eleven years ago. Her father, W.J. Whitehead, at whose residence in Athens the funeral services were held, was also one of the leading merchants of Athens up until his retirement several years ago. Mrs. Gunn had made her home in Atlanta for the last four years, and about a year ago married Mr. Gunn. While a resident of Athens, where she was born and reared, she was a member of the First Methodist church of that place and was active in church work. She attended Lucy Cobb Institute. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Robert Wingfield and one daughter Mrs. J.L. Drake and other relatives. The Atlanta Journal, the 9th.
