She was the daughter of the late Henry A. Poss and Ava P. Bentley and the widow of James F. Pope. She was a member of the Talmadge Heights Baptist Church and taught the Friendship Sunday School Class for many years. A native of Talieferro County, she had lived in Athens 65 years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Guy Patton of Hull, Mrs. Warren Conolly of Athens and Mrs. Frank Lane of Social Circle; two sons, Howard Pope of Athens and Foroest Pope of Warm Springs; one brother, Joe H. Poss of Athens, eight grandchildren, two great grand- children and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m.Sunday at the Talmadge Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. John H. Davidson, Jr. minister. Burial will be in Oconee Hill cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Moser, Jake Guest, Lewis Thaxton, O.C. Howington, R. I. Arnold and Clay Ward. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Conolly, 124 Ridgewood Place.
