JAMES C. BOWENS

James C. Bowens, of 260 Bazzelle Ave., died Saturday, oct 3, 1992. 

A native of Clarke County, Mr. Bowens was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. 
Carlton Bowens.  He wasa  member of Billups Grove Baptist Church and was a U.S. 
Army veteran of World War II.  He was a retired laborer with Anderson Plumbing 
Co. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Billups Grove Baptist Church. 
The Revs. Richard Morton Sr., Ben K. Willis, Reginald Morton and Richard Morton 
Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The body will be 
placed in the church at 1 p.m. 
Survivors include his wife, Mae Willie Morton Bowens; four step-daughters, 
Veronica Morton, Lila Dorsey and Cora Walton, all of Athens, and Bobby Jean 
Borton, New Haven, Conn.; three stepsons, Richard Morton Sr., New Haven, conn., 
Samuel Morton, Brooklyn, N>Y> and Floyd Morton, Ocala, Fla.

Mutual Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
