HAYNES Athens Banner Herald, April 10, 1989 Transcribed by C. Epps Bond December 13, 2005. Mattie Haynes Mattie L.Haynes, 94, of 228 Parkway Drive, died Friday, April 7. Mrs. Haynes, a native of Dooley County, had lived in Athens most of her life. She was a daughter of the late James Marion and Elizabeth Sutton Lewis, and the widow of C. C. Haynes. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brides Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. C.L. Harris will officiate, and burial will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be N. A. Westbrook, Paul Buchanan, Milton Leathers, III, Chip Seabolt, Milton Seabolt, and Dr. M.K. Hamby. Survivors include a daughter, Jewell Richards, Lake Wales, Fla.; a grandson, William C. Seabolt, Nashville; a niece, S. C. Matthews, Lake Wales, Fla.; two great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and two great-great-grandsons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm today at the funeral home.
