DIES IN ATLANTA 

Former Athens Boy Answers 
The Last Summons After 
A Long Illness

 Yesterday morning just after midnight, Mr. Walter A. Jackson died at his home 
in Atlanta after an illness of some time with heart trouble. 

Mr. Jackson was twenty-seven years of age at the time of his death. He was the 
son of Mr. And Mrs. W. B. Jackson, of this city, and until a few years since 
was a resident of Athens, where he had  many friends who will learn with great 
sorrow of his death.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife to whom the sympathies of a host of frieds 
are extended. 

He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, was an Odd Fellow and  Kinight 
ofPythias.  In all of these orders he was popular and faithful. 

The remains of Mr. Jackson were brought to Athens yesterday afternoon being 
met at the depot by a large number of sorrowing friends. 

The funeral services will be held this afternoon at four o’clock at the First 
Baptist church and will be conducted by Dr. W. H. Young.  The interment will 
be in Oconee cemetery. 

The following gentlemen will act as pallbearers and are requested to meet at 
the store of Dorsey & Funkenstein at 3:15 o’clock: Messrs. W. H. Kytle, R. D. 
Allen, F. C. Thornton, A. J. Palmer, Paul Hadaway and F. E. Griffeth.
